異文化を理解し他者を尊重できる心を育てる

現代の社会では英語を学ぶことが功利的、実利的な目的になってしまいがちです。しかし、外国の言葉を学び、文化を学ぶということの本質にあるのは自分とは異なる考え方や価値観を知り、その違いを認めた上でお互いを大切にできるようになることです。カトリックのミッションスクールとして他者にひらかれた自分を育て、他者のために生きる人を育てていくために、言語学習をもとにした異文化理解をすすめていきます。

To develop a multi-cultural understanding, and to cultivate respect for others

In contemporary society, learning English tends to be a strictly utilitarian pursuit. However, the true value of learning a foreign language and culture is realized in learning to understand and appreciate ways of thinking and standards of values that are different from our own, and in treasuring others through the acceptance of their differences. As a Catholic missionary school, we offer students a multi-cultural understanding based on the study of language, allowing students to raise themselves to be open to others and to live for the benefit of others.

自分の思いを英語で伝えることのできる力を育てる

言葉は自分の思いを伝えるためのツールです。自分は何を思い、考え、何を伝えていきたいのかをまとめ、そして、他者の思いや考え、伝えたいことを受け止めることから、よりよい発展的で創造的なものが生まれます。このような大きな可能性をもった自己表現と他者理解の力をコミュニケーション能力と呼びます。プレゼンテーションやパブリック・スピーチの演習を通して、総合的なコミュニケーション能力を育てていきます。

To develop the ability to express oneself in English

Language is a tool for expressing oneself. Students need to learn to understand and accept what other people feel, think or want to express. Communication and understanding will nurture creativity and development. Communication is the ability, not only to express oneself in a way that others will understand, but to understand what others want to say as well. Through presentations, discussions and public speaking, we develop the ability to communicate.

学園の創立者聖ジュリーは、フランス革命後の混乱期に、貧しい少女たちのために真に自立し社会に出て、その変革に貢献できる女性をめざした教育を始めました。そしてその事業は一国にとどまらず世界に広がっていきました。その建学の精神を受けつぎ、与えられた時と場所で社会をより良い方向に刷新していくのが清心学園の使命です。女性を取り巻く社会の厳しさに立ち向かい、現代社会の中でしっかりとした問題意識と使命感をもち、世界のあらゆる分野で活躍する女性を応援します。

To raise women who can participate actively in all fields as cosmopolitans

During the period of confusion following the French Revolution, the founder of our school, Saint Julie Billiart, began a system of education to allow girls from impoverished families to become independent, go out into the world and contribute to the world in a positive way. Since then, St. Julie Billiart and the Sisters have expanded not only across France, but also around the world. At Seishin Gakuen, our school mission is to teach young women to inherit the spirit of Saint Julie Billiart and work towards the betterment of society. We support women who participate actively in all fields as cosmopolitans, who work to end gender-bias, sex discrimination, violence against women and other social issues affecting women today, and who have self-confidence, strong minds, and a sense of responsibility towards our common mission in contemporary society.
